From San Genuario to Palude

On foot         Great Interest: Flora Great Interest: Wildlife
  • Departure: San Genuario (Crescentino)
  • Arrival: San Genuario
  • Length: 4 km
  • Involved Municipalities: Crescentino

A peaceful walk that offers the opportunity of a close observation of the habitats. From the hamlet of San Genuario, in the municipality of Crescentino, to the heart of the protected area, which is fenced and whose access is regulated.
San Genuario (municipality of Crescentino) is 1 km from Province Road 1, the well-known “Strada delle Grange” connecting Crescentino and Vercelli. A different access is by turning north from Province Road 33 between Crescentino and Fontanetto Po.
From the outskirts of San Genuario (by the cemetery) take Strada Costa, which goes east towards the rice fields. After 1 km you will reach the wells of Trino's aqueduct, by which a reforestation area was planted with tree and shrub species typical of the flatland wood, such as oak, hornbeam and hawthorn.
