Itinerary J - Km 35 - The Residences of the House of Savoy in Venaria and Rivoli
Together with itineraries H, B, and K, this itinerary, chosen by the Association Bici&Dintorni from Turin, gives the opportunity to carry out a complete ring-route around the town of Turin, touching the whole group of the residences of the House of Savoy, called in the 18th century "Corona di Delizie" (Crown of Delights).
The itinerary connects Venaria Reale, town built around the famous royal palace that has been recently renovated, with Rivoli, dominated by the castle at the top of the hill. Both monuments are safeguarded today by Unesco. Rivoli Castle houses one of the most important Contemporary Art Museums of Europe.
In Venaria and Druento you will find La Mandria Regional Park, in the past private hunting reserve of Vittorio Emanuele II. In Collegno, the itinerary leads to Certosa Reale, used for a long time as a psychiatric hospital.
