Grangia di Pobietto

Grangia di Pobietto ("Grangia" is a type of rural building) is in the heart of a vast rice-growing area, on higher ground which keeps it safer from floods.
It was built at the end of 1100, and some of the original features can still be observed. The Porta tower and part of the wall date back to the Middle Ages, while archaeological research during the 1990s led to the discovery of remnants of a Bronze Age village in the surroundings.
