Canavese Red
Definition
Canavese Red wine consists for at least the 60% of grapes coming from Barbera, Bonarda, Freisa, and Neretto vines. It has an intense garnet red color with violaceous reflections; a broad and attractive scent, with flavors of clove, wild berries, and plums; a harmonious, dry, sober, warm, and charming taste with balanced acidity tannin. Minimum alcohol content: 10.5%; minimum total acidity: 5 per mil; net dry extract: 19 per mil. Match: second dishes based on red meat or game.
- Production Area: It includes the morainic hills of Canavese area, in the Province of Turin, and some Municipalities of the Provinces of Biella and Vercelli. Among the Municipalities of Po Torinese Park, there are Mazzè and Villareggia.
- Legislative Protection: Canavese wine has obtained the DOC label (Controlled Designation of Origin) with the Ministerial Decree 12th September 1996. This wine has the following code: B303 X 999 2 X X A 0 X.
